Today we continued working on the Letter C, did the sensory tub and did some more Easter crafts!

Painting his Easter egg! I watered down the paint to make it look more pastel colored. :)

Our color this week is RED, so i printed out this fun magnet pom pom activity from makinglearningfun.com! This is a great site with tons of magnet pom pom activity printouts!

Sensory tub fun! I filled it with bird seed, pom poms, measuring spoons/cups and a medicine cup (his fav!). Took this outside so the leftover mess could be left for the birdies. :)

This week we are working on the letter C, the color red, and the number 3! We are also working on a lot of Easter crafts and learning about caterpillars!

Baby Bear, Baby Bear!

We are still working on the letter B! Between sicky kiddos and other things our school time has been limited! boo! I plan on doing some more A and B things this week and starting fresh next week with Letter C and number 3! :)

Book of the day-baby bear baby bear! 1 of our favs in this house! :)

This project is super fun for Cameron! He loved completing the puzzle and working with the magnetic pom poms!

This week we are working on Blue, So we did this fun collage. He helped me find Blue things in a magazine and glued them on the paper. This was really fun for him and I think I'll do it every week for the color we are working on.

For our 2nd day on the letter B we did some fun stuff! Cam got to play with the sensory tub filled with some water and bubbles! He really liked that! :)

We finished up some st. patricks day crafts and stories-

cam's finished rainbow! :) he really liked working on this!

We've had a very very busy week and today was the 1st day we did school this week! Hoping next week is a little more laid back so we can keep our M/W/F schedule! whew!

We got up bright and early this morning and did prek and even went to a friends house for a St. Patricks Day playdate! :) FUN! :)

Cam's shamrock that he did all by himself! I cut strips of green paper and let him cut little green squares and he glued them on the shamrock. totally cute and great for fine motor skills too!

Sensory Table FUN!

Today we continued working on Letter A, Number 1 and our Apple theme! I also introduced the sensory tub!

Gluing marshmellows on letter "A"-This was a great project because it involved the letter A of course and also, colors of the marshmellows and the circles on the letter A.

bought the Apple at the dollar tree and printed the little apple/letter As to glue on it.

Sensory Tub! Normally I will start this on Monday and let him use it every day but since this weeks sensory tub is shaving cream we only did it one day. He loved this though. I added some sand tools and some foam letters. Super fun!

I got this idea from Our Crafts and Things. I will make these every week! Cam really likes looking through them!

Fun with Apples!

So since our theme this week is apples, I found some really cute apple projects online. :) Cam especially liked painting with the apple! so cute!

I Printed this cute tree and let Cam color it. He then glued on the apples!

This is a really cute book about counting apples and baking apple pie! Cam used the felt board when I read this too. I cut out little red numbered apples and we sang 1 little, 2 little, 3 little apples while cam put them on the felt board.

Cameron really loves activities on the felt board! I found this cute poem and shamrocks online so I cut them for him to use as a felt board activity. (From now on I'll try to remember where i get stuff so i can share. ;) :)) I started the poem/activity on Monday and will continue to do this until St patricks day. He's already trying to say the poem with me. :)

This was a #1 printout that i printed for Cam to try. I wasn't sure if he would be able to do this but he really caught on quick..so i think i'll try to do these for each letter/number that we work on. :)

Canvas Painting with friends!

Today we had an at home playdate with some of Cam's friends. We usally attend 1-2 playdates a week. These are great because one downside of doing at home preschool is there are no other kids, but I think this is a perfect way for social interaction for Cam! He loves seeing and interacting with his friends!

Today we painted canvases! This was lots of fun and the kids loved it! It's very easy too! Michael's sells 8x10 canvases in 2 pack for $5! Add some ribbon to hang it and let your little artist go wild!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to my blog! I've decided to take the step and homeschool my 3 year old son. SOO-to start this FUN adventure with my youngest son, we took a shopping trip for supplies!

Come along with us and feel free to use the ideas that I post! I love reading other homeschool blogs!! Such GREAT info! :) The internet is such a great source of useful information!

My routine will be something similar to this-

1.Name recognition and song-
I will have my sons name and other family member's names written on paper and taped to the wall. He will pick his name and we will sing a song about his name and use the letters to spell it out. This will teach him to recognize and spell his name in time.

2. Calendar-
I bought a fabulous wooden calendar on Ebay that i'm waiting on to arrive in the mail! Here it is!

So we'll review the month, day, year and days of the week when we do this. :)

3. Weather-

I bought a really cute weather wheel on Ebay for $5

5. Shape and Color Review-

I will use these to review and might use the extra set for the felt board-Bought these on Ebay for $4

6. We will then work on our Letter and Number of the week. We'll talk about the lower case and upper case letter and what sound it makes. We'll practice recognizing the number and counting. We will also do a craft/worksheet on the letter and number of the week.

We'll also do a hands on activity for the number or letter....Such as putting the felt "A" on the feltboard. Or this number game that I copied off of an expensive mellisa&Doug game. Got all this at the dollar tree. $3 for the whole game!

The Scholastic books in the back are Bob Books. They will be used weekly also. Each letter of the alphabet has a book and we'll read the book for "A" all week. :)

The flash cards will be used for other projects and possibly for the felt board. :)

These are foam letters that I bought at walmart that we'll use for projects/crafts.

7.) Theme-

Each week we'll have a theme. Our theme for next week is going to "Apples"-So we'll work on counting apples, coloring apples, the letter "A", the color red, and different Apple books and games. I will try to incorprate the letter of the week with the theme. During theme time we will also have theme snacks and do sesory activities :) Each week will be a new theme!

This is my whole setup so far! The felt board was made by me! This was super easy! 1 piece of large carboard, 1 yard of felt and some tape. It's nice because it's double sided or i can unfold it and use the whole board. This cost me $4 to make!!!!

Some other supplies that I picked up.

fruit/veggie cutouts..can be used for theme/color..

magnets that we'll use on an art easle and for different projects.

lots of felt that i'll use for the feltboard projects. :)

The dollar tree has tons of supplies for teaching and walmart had some too! I'm going to check out Target this week and also a teaching store here in town..but seriously I think I spent around $50 for all the supplies. and this stuff will last forever!
